Hansel’s Racing Career Is Over
Associated Press
LEXINGTON, Ky. —
Hansel, winner of the Preakness and Belmont Stakes, will stand at stud at Shaikh Maktoum al Maktoum’s Gainsborough Farm beginning in 1992 under a sale arrangement announced Wednesday.
Joe Allbritton, who has raced the colt, will retain breeding interest in him.
Hansel will not race again because of a tendon injury suffered while finishing second in the Travers Aug. 17 at Saratoga.
