OUTLOOK

After two winning seasons with Anderson as coach, the Knights have nosedived the past two years, winning only two of 10 league games. Lack of speed and size hurt the Knights, whose only victories in 1990 came against Estancia (2-8) and Cypress (3-7). Anderson believes the bad days are behind him, mainly because the Knights are faster and more physical than in the past two seasons. He’s not hoping for a drastic turnaround in ‘91, merely a winning record. Liu, an all-league selection last season, is the team’s top prospect, and he’s only a junior. Rutherford also is a returning all-league performer. Hennessy and Irving started in the backfield last season. After those four the experience drops off, but Anderson hopes a group of talented newcomers will fill the gaps.
