The Atlanta Braves said shortstop Jeff Blauser will be out for 10 days because of a broken big toe on his left foot. The Braves called up shortstop Rico Rossy from triple-A Richmond. Blauser injured the toe Tuesday night in Montreal when he took a throw on a double play ball and the Expos’ Delino DeShields slid into his foot.

The Buffalo Bisons of the triple-A American Assn. broke a minor league attendance record of 1,205,335--more fans than have turned out so far in three major league cities this year--when they sold 19,842 tickets for their final regular-season game Wednesday.

Until June, Buffalo was a candidate to become one of the two National League expansion teams that will start play in 1993. But attendance didn’t drop off after the teams were awarded to Denver and Miami.

Buffalo set the previous minor league record of 1,186,651 in 1988, the year the city opened its new stadium, Pilot Field.

General Manager Michael Billoni said good weather and the first division championship for a Buffalo baseball team since 1959--played a big role in this year’s attendance.
