Pebble Beach Decision Postponed: The California Coastal Commission voted to postpone until next month a decision on Pebble Beach Co.’s plan to sell memberships in a private Pebble Beach National Club. The vote, taken at a meeting in Marina del Rey, means that Pebble Beach may not begin its sale of memberships, proceeds from which were to be used to help pay off a large debt. Attorneys for the Monterey County golf course company on Monday had released a tentative settlement on which they had collaborated with attorneys for the commission and the county. In a one-line statement, the company said it is disappointed and is “reviewing all our options.” The commission will meet Oct. 8-11 in Monterey.
