Goaltender Mark Fitzpatrick of the New York Islanders has suffered a recurrence of the blood disorder that forced him to miss most of last season.

Six hours of tests revealed that Fitzpatrick, 22, again has been stricken by eosinophilla myalgia syndrome (EMS). The disorder, which causes swelling of the muscles and tissues, is aggravated by exercise.
