All Gant Can Do Lately Is Win

Harry Gant took the lead Saturday on the 105th lap and finished with a five-second victory over Robert Pressley in the SplitFire Spark Plugs 200 at Dover, Del.

The victory, at 126.538 m.p.h. in a Buick, was the second in a row for Gant, 51, on NASCAR’s Busch Grand National circuit and his fourth in a row overall. He won $16,450.

He has won the last two races on the elite Winston Cup circuit.

Gant will start 10th in an Oldsmobile in the Peak Antifreeze 500 today, when he tries to extend his Winston Cup streak to three, which has been done by only 11 others.
