Three starters, who had said they were quitting the Louisiana State football team, rejoined the squad after Coach Curley Hallman offered to let them return.

Running back Odell Beckham, defensive tackle Stanley Thomas and outside linebacker Shawn King said Monday evening that they were quitting. Beckham returned to practice Tuesday, however, and the school said Thomas and King also decided to return after meeting Tuesday night with Hallman.

Mike Miller, billed by Notre Dame as the next Raghib (Rocket) Ismail, has dropped out of school and said he may transfer to a Southwest Conference school. Miller, a 5-foot-7, 165-pounder known for his speed as a wide receiver and kick returner, dropped out of Notre Dame on Monday.

“The pressure there was horrible,” Miller told the Dallas Morning News. “I don’t know where I’ll play football. I missed home. . . . I just want to enroll in school right now. But it doesn’t mean this is where I’ll play.”

The former Sugar Land, Tex., Willowridge star met Tuesday with Houston Coach John Jenkins but said he still has an interest in Texas.
