WESTMINSTER : Man Shot, Dumped in Shopping Center
A man was shot in the stomach and dumped from a car in a shopping center parking lot Monday in what police believe was a gang shooting.
Police said Miguel Raul Bautista Moyotl, 25, of Garden Grove was walking in the parking lot of Stater Bros. supermarket at the corner of Newland Street and Westminster Boulevard when two men in a car approached him around 4:35 p.m.
Moyotl was apparently dragged into a brown Ford LTD, shot once and shoved out, police Sgt. Rick McKinney said.
Moyotl was treated by Westminster paramedics before being airlifted to Long Beach Memorial Hospital where he was reported in stable condition Monday night.
The car was found abandoned two blocks away.
One of the men in the car was identified by witnesses as a gang member, Sgt. Jack Davidson said.
