La Canada 9, Burroughs 7--The Spartans (1-2) overcame a 7-3 deficit with 15 seconds remaining when quarterback Chris Ray connected with Jason Sharman for an eight-yard touchdown at Burroughs. Ray hit five of 16 passes for 94 yards.
La Canada limited the Indians to 26 yards rushing in the first half. But the Indians dominated the third quarter, pulling ahead after senior Mike Torres recovered a Spartan fumble on the La Canada 18. Marco Cecena (13 carries for 55 yards) scored from one yard for the touchdown.
