Toxic Discharges
Under the state Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act, Ventura County must report each week the toxic and potentially toxic materials discharged. The discharges are investigated by the county Environmental Health Division. DATE: Aug. 1 LOCATION: 949 Calle Pensamiento, Thousand Oaks MATERIAL: Four gallons of muriatic acid DATE: Sept. 20 LOCATION: Ventura Boulevard at Las Posas Road, Ventura MATERIAL: gallons of pesticide and water DATE: Sept. 21 LOCATION: California 33, north of Ojai MATERIAL: 55 gallons of waste oil
