Longshot Patty’s Princess led all the way, outrunning heavily favored Turnback The Alarm by one length in the $68,900 Gardenia Breeders’ Cup Stakes for 2-year-old fillies at Calder Race Course on Saturday.

Patty’s Princess, ridden by Jose Velez Jr., was timed in 1:47 2/5 over a mile and 70 yards. The Florida-bred filly paid $18.60, $7 and $4.20. Turnback The Alarm, the 7-5 choice, paid $4.40 and $3.40. Appeal To Glory paid $5.40.
