Good Mood Is Fastest Filly
Peter E. Blum’s Good Mood, ridden by Mike Smith, led all the way in winning the Miss Grillo Stakes for 2-year-old fillies Thursday at Belmont Park by 2 3/4 lengths.
Good Mood, carrying 114 pounds, covered 1 1/-16 miles on the firm Widener Turf Course in a fast 1:42 3/-5 to earn $78,720 for her second consecutive victory.
The daughter of Devil’s Bag-Mine Only returned $5, $3.80 and $3 as the favorite. Point Spread, coupled in the wagering with Tootsie, was second in the $131,200 race, paying $5.60 and $3.40.
