Back Bay Tours--The Friends of Newport Bay group is sponsoring walking tours of the Newport Back Bay area on Saturday. The free tours last about two hours.
Specialists will be on hand to explain the animal and plant life found in the area.
The first tour leaves at 9 a.m., with subsequent tours leaving about every 15 minutes. The last tour will leave at 10:15 a.m.
Those who would like to participate are asked to meet at Back Bay and Eastbluff drives in Newport Beach. For more information, call the Friends of Newport Bay at (714) 646-8009.
Marine Workshop for Children--The Orange County Marine Institute in Dana Point will hold a program for preschoolers and their parents on four consecutive Wednesdays, beginning this Wednesday. The “Mommy and Me and the Sea” sessions will be from 8 to 10 a.m. or 10:30 a.m. to noon. The cost is $42 for each parent-child pair. Call the institute at (714) 496-2272 for more information.
