Weekend Box Office : ‘Fisher King’ Still Reigns

“The Fisher King” still reigns, with ticket sales dropping only 12% from the previous weekend. “Ricochet” and “The Super” debuted with fair grosses, while Goldie Hawn’s “Deceived” added screens and improved its take 6%. “Suburban Commando,” “Shout” and “Man in the Moon” made little box-office noise, but “Paradise,” in sixth place, expanded to 681 theaters and collected a strong $5,253 per-screen. The 1982 “Blade Runner,” at Los Angeles’ Nuart Theatre, continued to do blazing business, as second weekend grosses improved 13%, for a total of $88,817 in 10 days.

* “Stepping Out,” starring Liza Minnelli, danced to a strong $13,500 per screen. Ken Russell’s “Whore” attracted modest attention: $165,000 at 54 houses.
