Newbury Park : 12 Arrested as Raids Net Drugs, Weapons

Twelve people were arrested, and cocaine, methamphetamine and marijuana were seized in drug raids in Newbury Park and Simi Valley, officials said Friday.

Ventura County sheriff’s deputies arrested eight people Thursday and seized a pound of cocaine at a Newbury Park residence after a three-week investigation, said Sgt. Gary Pentis, department spokesman.

Deputies serving a search warrant at 3261 W. Felton St. about 5 p.m. Thursday found the house guarded by a pit bull, he said.

Six people were arrested in the house, and two others were arrested when they arrived later in the evening, he said.

Several ounces of marijuana and a sawed-off semiautomatic rifle also were seized, along with loaded firearms in each of the bedrooms, Pentis said.

Deputies also seized about $6,000 in cash and a 19-foot ski boat valued at about $10,000, he said.

Arrested were Todd Feldman, 26, Shelby Feldman, 18, William Foley, 26, William Goff, 31, and Lainey Laxdhl, 21, all of Newbury Park; Keith Crespi, 27, and Thomas Detroia, 41, of Thousand Oaks; and Clark Acosta, 26, of Agoura.

All eight were booked into Ventura County Jail on drug charges, a Ventura County Jail spokesman said.

In a separate investigation, Simi Valley police arrested four people and seized cocaine and methamphetamine Thursday after serving search warrants at 2791 Fletcher St. and 3687 Delilah St., Sgt. Bob Gardner said.

He estimated the value of the drugs at $2,300.

Bobbie Burgess, 32, was arrested about 3 p.m. Thursday at the Fletcher Street address on suspicion of possessing cocaine with intent to sell, Gardner said.

She was booked into Ventura County Jail and released Friday on her own recognizance.

Officers arrested Eric Kaltenbach, 25, and James Parks, 27, at about 8 p.m. Thursday at the Delilah Street residence, Gardner said.

Parks was held Friday on $20,000 bail on suspicion of possessing cocaine with intent to sell and possessing methamphetamine.

Kaltenbach was being held Friday on $23,000 bail on suspicion of selling cocaine, Gardner said.

Also arrested at the Delilah Street address was Todd Ballard, 25, who was booked on suspicion of possessing cocaine and released Friday on his own recognizance, Gardner said.
