Natalia Ginzburg, 75, Italian author and playwright who delighted worldwide readers with her insights on Italian family life. She published her first book, “The Road to the City,” during World War II, using the pseudonym Alessandra Torninparte in order to circumvent laws restricting Jews. Her best-known works were “Voices in the Evening” in 1961 and “Family Sayings” in 1963. In 1983, she was elected to the Italian Parliament and served one term. On Monday in Rome of cancer.
