Sheriff Brad Gates and his staff deserve commendation for an efficient and well-run health-care system inside the county jails, the Orange County Grand Jury says in a new report.

“The system in place seems to work well, and the medical well-being of the inmates is proper and efficient,” the report says.

The report, which was based on interviews with staff and observation of the jail pharmacy, comes despite frequent complaints by inmates about jail health care.
