PRO FOOTBALL DAILY REPORT : RAMS : Dupree May Be Activated for Falcons

Share

Although Coach John Robinson said the Rams won’t announce any roster moves until later this week, tailback Marcus Dupree said Wednesday that Robinson has told him he will be activated for Sunday’s game against the Falcons in Atlanta.

Dupree, on the injured-reserve list all season with a dislocated left big toe, has been practicing for several weeks but hasn’t been activated because the Rams already have Robert Delpino and Cleveland Gary at tailback.

But with the running game slowing down, the Rams apparently need Dupree on the active roster, even though he said he doesn’t think he’ll get much playing time Sunday.

“I’m prepared to go full speed,” Dupree said. “Out here (in practice) I go full speed every day. . . . It’s up to Coach Robinson how the rest of the season goes for me.

“I think he wants to get back to the running game, and like I said, all I can do is wait and see. I really don’t have any comment beyond that. Glad to be playing. Maybe slip me in there one or two plays.”

Because of the Falcons’ run-and-shoot offense, Kevin Greene will be moved back to defensive end Sunday, used mainly as a pass rusher on the left side.

In the last two weeks, Greene has played left linebacker against two primarily running teams, but Ram defensive coaches have maintained that he will be moved to suit the offense they face each week.
