Brethren Christian wide receiver Tim Osborn caught eight passes for 230 yards and a touchdown Saturday to lead the Warriors to a 20-14 Olympic League victory at Orange Lutheran.

Osborn’s total receiving yardage was the most by an Orange County receiver this season and set a school record, surpassing the 190 yards by Steve Calhoun in 1986.

Trailing, 7-6, at halftime, Brethren Christian (5-2, 2-0) took the lead again early in the third quarter when Osborn caught a 75-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Danny Cerio. Matt Marksbury’s extra point made it 13-7 with 10 minutes 12 seconds left in the quarter.

Orange Lutheran (2-5, 0-2) had taken a 7-0 lead. The Lancers took the opening kickoff and drove 79 yards in 12 plays, capping the drive with Dale Huss’ one-yard run.

Quarterback Lenny Gavin gave Orange Lutheran a 14-13 lead with a four-yard touchdown with 5:22 left in the third quarter. But the Warriors responded 11 seconds later on a 69-yard run by James Harris to make it 20-13.

Playing in a steady rain in the second half, neither team was in a position to score. Orange Lutheran drove inside the Warrior 40 midway through the final quarter but turned the ball over on downs.
