The body of an unidentified transient who had been stabbed at least once in the chest was found Monday at the west end of Balboa Park, officials said.
Park employees found the man, who is white and is believed to be 55 to 60 years old, at 9:30 a.m. near Laurel Street, San Diego Police Lt. Paul Ybarrondo said. The man was wearing a gray sweat shirt and gray pants and was lying in a pile of clothing.
The medical examiner is investigating.
