A 20-year-old Sepulveda man has died from a chest wound received during a gang-related drive-by shooting, Los Angeles police said Thursday.
Ramon Carmona, identified by police as a gang member, was pronounced dead at Northridge Hospital Medical Center about 9 p.m. Wednesday, three hours after the shooting, Detective Tom Broad said.
Carmona was standing with friends at Sepulveda and Roscoe boulevards when a Mercury Cougar pulled up and one of its occupants, believed to be members of a rival gang, fired into the crowd and struck Carmona, Broad said. Police found the car abandoned nearby, but no arrests have been made, Broad said.
