The NBA said it has sent a letter to its clubs offering players the opportunity to be tested voluntarily for HIV. A league spokesman said, however, “We have not put into place any further testing plans at this time.”
Charles Grantham, executive director of the players’ union, said that the union has been discussing an AIDS-testing and counseling program.
