OUTLOOK

The Patriots hope they can improve on their 3-10 record and last-place finish in Academy League play (0-6) last season. Experience will be a major factor in improved prospects as all five starters return, including point guard Sheri Larson, who led the team in scoring (7.0 points per game). Although the team lacks six-footers, seniors Darby Chaney (5-9) and Jackie Dixon (5-8) and sophomores Alisia Kean (5-9) and Jessica Day (5-8) have enough height to be competitive at this level. Heritage will have to assume the dark-horse role; Liberty Christian and Cal Lutheran both have sizable numbers of key players back from last season’s co-championship teams.
