John Taylor scored 18 points, leading Butler to a 67-60 victory over Notre Dame at South Bend, Ind., spoiling John MacLeod’s debut as the 15th basketball coach of the Irish Tuesday night.

J.P. Brens made two free throws and Darin Archbold added one in the final minute to end Notre Dame’s hopes for a comeback.

Isaiah Morris, playing in place of All-American Todd Day, who is suspended for two months, scored 25 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead No. 2 Arkansas into the finals of the Maui Invitational with a 99-84 victory over Chaminade. . . . Jim Jackson scored 22 points and No. 5 Ohio State’s pressure defense produced 25 turnovers as the Buckeyes beat Miami of Ohio, 94-61, at Columbus. Chris Jent added a career-high 21 points, Mark Baker and Jamie Skelton each scored 15 and Jamaal Brown chipped in with 10 for Ohio State. . . .
