Bobby Bonilla will spend the weekend waiting for the Chicago White Sox to present an offer and for teams that have already submitted bids to decide whether they will improve their offers, Bonilla’s agent, Dennis Gilbert, said Thursday.

Gilbert is scheduled to meet this weekend with Jerry Reinsdorf, chairman of the White Sox, the final team to enter the Bonilla derby. Bonilla is expected to make a decision next week.

The Angels’ guaranteed five-year offer and the bid of one of the other five teams have a potential value of $28 million to $30 million; the Mets, told by Gilbert Wednesday their offer of $24.5 million for four years plus an option year was insufficient, are deciding if they will increase their bid. The Phillies are said to have offered $25 million and the Pirates $22.5 million, also for five years. The value of an offer made Wednesday by the Cubs is not known.
