Muir 27, Rio Mesa 10--Muir quarterback Andy Colbert rushed for 157 yards in 13 carries to lead Muir (8-4) past the host Spartans (8-4). Colbert had touchdown runs of 48, 54 and 14 yards, all in the second half.

Trailing, 7-0, at halftime, Rio Mesa tied the score, 7-7, on Gordy Abellera’s 51-yard run in the third period. Abellera had 69 yards in 12 carries for Rio Mesa, which upset top-seeded Royal last week.

Spartan quarterback Andy Contreras completed three of eight passes for 81 yards, Swanson Nunnery catching all three passes.
