PRO FOOTBALL / DAILY REPORT : RAIDERS : Hebert Shows Readiness in Practice
Injured quarterback Bobby Hebert practiced Thursday and might be ready to play for the New Orleans Saints in Monday night’s game against the Raiders at the Superdome.
Hebert has sat out all or part of the Saints’ last seven games because of a sprained right shoulder and a bruised rotator cuff muscle. With Hebert out, the Saints have gone 3-4 behind backup Steve Walsh, losing four consecutive games.
“I’m real encouraged by what I saw today,” Saint Coach Jim Mora said of Hebert. “He threw the ball well and did everything that he would normally do as a quarterback who’s ready to play.”
Hebert said Friday he was ready to play.
“I’m just going to keep working hard in practice and prepare for the game,” Hebert said. “The biggest adjustment I’ll face is the difference in the tempo. Things happen faster under game conditions.”
