COLLEGE BASKETBALL NATIONAL ROUNDUP : Freshman Has the Hot Hand for Indiana

Indiana freshman Alan Henderson scored 20 points, all in the second half, to lead No. 13 Indiana over Boston University, 88-47, Friday night in the first round of the Indiana Classic at Bloomington, Ind.

Indiana (4-2), which has never lost a game in the 18-year history of its tournament at Assembly Hall, built a 38-13 halftime lead.

Boston University (2-2) shot 19% in the first half, 23% in the game.

Henderson also had a game-high 10 rebounds.

Greg Graham scored 19 points for the Hoosiers. Calbert Cheaney and Damon Bailey each had 10.

Indiana led, 7-4, before going on a 13-0 run.

Brigham Young 93, Utah State 77--Freshman Russell Larson scored 29 points to help the Cougars win an opening-round game in their tournament at Provo, Utah.

Larson had six points during a 22-7 run in the second half that gave BYU (4-0) a 66-53 lead.

Utah State is 2-3.

Princeton 64, Oral Roberts 55--Sean Jackson’s three-point basket started Princeton on a 7-0 run with five minutes left and the Tigers pulled away for an opening-round victory in the Cougar Classic tournament at Provo, Utah.

Rick Hielscher led Princeton (5-2) with 15 points.

Sebastian Neal scored 18 points for Oral Roberts (3-5).

Northeast Louisiana 61, Oregon 59--Keith Johnson made a three-point shot at the buzzer to give the Indians the victory at the NCAA Ball tournament in Tokyo.
