Police have arrested a man suspected of sexually assaulting at least nine women in Sacramento and Fresno over the last two years. Willis Moffett, 35, of Sacramento has been linked to a series of attacks beginning in 1989 in which women were abducted at gunpoint and assaulted, police spokeswoman Betsy Braziel said. Moffett, who faces numerous charges of sexual assault, has been in custody on a $25,000 bail warrant in Sacramento County Jail since his Dec. 19 arrest, Braziel said. During a four-month period in the fall of 1989, four women were taken at gunpoint to a school bus storage yard near Hiram Johnson High School, where they were assaulted. Moffett is suspected in three similar assaults in Sacramento this year, the latest on Nov. 15, and two attacks in Fresno, Braziel said.
