GOLF : Edwards Shoots 67, Leads by 1 Stroke
David Edwards, coming off the best season of his 13-year career, shot a five-under-par 67 Friday for a one-stroke lead over Mike Reid after two rounds at the Ben Hogan-Pebble Beach Invitational.
Edwards, a two-time PGA Tour winner who finished 38th on the money list in 1991 with nearly $400,000, had six birdies and one bogey on the Pebble Beach Golf Links in the unique, non-tour event that includes entrants from the PGA, LPGA and Senior tours.
Reid, a 15-year veteran, followed an opening-round three-under 69 at Pebble Beach with a three-under-par 70 at Poppy Hills.
