SPORTS ON WEEKEND TV : Pro Football and Skating Titles

The NFL plays its conference championships, figure skating gets prime-time exposure and UCLA faces its toughest basketball opponent of the season on a busy sports weekend.

* Pro Football: The Denver Broncos, 4-0 in AFC championship games, will be decided underdogs when they play at the Buffalo Bills at 9:30 a.m. Sunday on Channels 4, 36 and 39. The Detroit Lions, seeking their first win at Washington in 16 games, will take on the Redskins in the NFC championship at 1 p.m. on Channels 2 and 8.

* Figure Skating: Berths on the Olympic team will be at stake when the U.S. Figure Skating Championships air on “Wide World of Sports,” today at 4:30 p.m. on Channels 7, 3 and 42, and at 3:30 p.m. on Channel 10. The program continues at 9 p.m. on the four ABC affiliates.

College Basketball: The No. 2 UCLA Bruins play at Pac-10 rival No. 6 Arizona Wildcats today at 3 p.m. on Channels 2 and 63. Other telecasts involving the Associated Press’ Top 25 include: No. 8 North Carolina vs. Notre Dame at New York (10:30 a.m., Channels 4, 36 and 39) and No. 9 Illinois vs. Michigan State (1 p.m., Channels 2 and 8). On Sunday, No. 23 USC plays at Arizona State at 4 p.m. on Channels 2 and 8.
