Michael Jordan scored 37 points and the Chicago Bulls held the Utah Jazz to a season low in points in winning the battle of division leaders, 105-90, Friday night at Chicago.

The victory was the ninth in 10 games for the Bulls, whose 28-5 record is the NBA’s best. The Midwest Division-leading Jazz, whose previous low was 91 points, have lost five in a row on the road.

Chicago took control in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Jazz, 15-4, for a 93-77 lead with 6:29 left.

San Antonio 128, Golden State 120--Willie Anderson matched his career high with 36 points and David Robinson added 27 as the Spurs won at Oakland.

The Spurs stopped the Warriors’ winning streak at five in the first game between the teams since Golden State upset the Spurs in the opening round of the NBA playoffs last year.

The victory against the Pacific Division-leading Warriors returned an immediate dividend on Spur owner Red McCombs’ decision to give in to player demands for chartered flights on trips. The Spurs, in a money-saving move, had been using commercial flights.

Golden State was led by Sarunas Marciulionis and Tim Hardaway with 29 points each and Chris Mullin with 25.

Detroit 86, Portland 81--Mark Aguirre scored 21 points and Joe Dumars made four free throws in the final 16 seconds, boosting the Pistons over the Trail Blazers at Auburn Hills, Mich.

Detroit held Portland to eight points during the second quarter and led, 80-69, with 3:47 remaining in the game. But a jumper by Kevin Duckworth, two foul shots by Buck Williams and a three-pointer by Clyde Drexler pulled Portland to within three with 36 seconds remaining. Four free throws by Dumars sealed the victory.

Robert Parish, who appeared on his way to the 25 points he needed to become the 17th NBA player to score 20,000, suffered a sprained ankle during the third quarter and left the game with 22 points.

Rodgers earned his 100th NBA coaching victory by beating his former team.

Phoenix 118, Orlando 107--Jeff Hornacek scored 25 points and Kevin Johnson had 15 to go with 15 assists as the Suns won easily at Phoenix.
