A convenience store clerk shot during an attempted robbery continued to wait on customers for 20 minutes until police arrived.

“We have mini-market robberies all the time, but usually they call it a night if they’ve been shot,” Yakima police Detective Sgt. Mark Peck said Wednesday.

Peck said Min Suk Han was shot in the side by one of two men who walked into Many’s Market wearing ski masks. The bullet lodged between two ribs on the left side of Han’s chest. Doctors later removed the bullet and Han was released from the hospital.

Han told police that he felt a tingling after one of the men fired, but did not see any blood. The men fled empty-handed, so Han did not call police until he noticed the wound while telling a friend at the store what had happened.
