Madden and Vitale Are Reasons to Savor Silence
In response to the letter from Calder James of Laguna Beach last week, we would like to say “touche” and “amen.” He really hit it right on the nose.
Yes, we are joining him and are “fellow sufferers” and we do use our mute button constantly when we are forced to have John Madden announcing a game that we would enjoy otherwise.
We have always read Larry Stewart’s Friday columns with great interest. But he really let us down with his story about Madden. I couldn’t believe what I was reading. How can he stand him? He is as impossible as Dick Vitale.
We both groaned when we heard that Madden was going to be doing the Super Bowl and that same day Vitale was doing a basketball game that we had hoped to enjoy. They need help.
