Beric Schwartzhaupt of Hanau, Germany, was arrested in San Diego as authorities seized 12 kilograms of pure steroid worth $1.9 million, officials said.

Schwartzhaupt will be charged with importing and distributing a controlled substance, California Attorney General Dan Lungren said.

Schwartzhaupt was arrested after he received from Germany the 12-kilogram shipment of steroids, enough to fill--when diluted--24,000 bottles of 100 tablets each, worth $80 a bottle on the street, Lungren said.
