Josh Hinrichs scored 14 points to lead Saugus High past Camarillo, 41-39, in a Southern Section Division I-A qualifying-round boys’ basketball game Tuesday night at Saugus.

Saugus (18-8) will visit Channel League champion Buena on Friday.

In a game plagued by poor shooting, the Centurions did not make a basket during the fourth quarter. But they held off the Scorpions by making eight of nine free throws. Hinrichs was four for four in the quarter.

Steve Tampus scored all seven of his points in the first quarter as Saugus took a 16-7 lead. Jaime Jaquez led Camarillo with 16 points and Geoff Gordon added 11.
