LA PUENTE : Mother of Slain Student Offers $5,000 Reward

Share

The mother of a high school student shot to death last month in front of as many as 80 people at a La Puente taco stand has offered a $5,000 reward for information on the killer.

Yahrou Proctor, 18, a West Covina High School student who was not a gang member, was slain Feb. 8 by a Latino gang member with whom he exchanged words, police said. Despite the large crowd near the stand when the shooting occurred, no one has identified Proctor’s assailant. Those with information on the murder should call the sheriff’s office.

Proctor’s mother, Lois Motley, 41, also is organizing a march in front of the stand tonight. The 6 p.m. rally at the Boca del Rio stand, 1163 N. Hacienda Blvd., is expected to draw city officials, religious leaders and police.
