SPORTS ON WEEKEND TV : New Season for Basketball

College basketball begins its March dominance with the conclusion of the Pacific 10 season, conference championship games and the NCAA tournament field.
College Basketball: No. 9 UCLA can wrap up its first Pac-10 title since 1987 with a win over Arizona State at 3 p.m. today on Channel 2. No. 10 USC plays host to No. 2 Arizona at 1 p.m. on Prime Ticket. CBS (Channels 2 and 63) will have a Big East Conference tournament semifinal doubleheader at 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. today, with the championship game set for 9:30 a.m. Sunday. CBS will also have a Big Ten game between No. 4 Indiana and Purdue at 11:45 a.m. Sunday.
The NCAA tournament pairings will be announced Sunday at 3:30 p.m. on Channels 2 and 8.
Pro Basketball: The Lakers visit the Washington Bullets at 4:30 p.m. today on Channels 9, 51 and 63. NBC’s (Channels 4, 36 and 39) game matches the Portland Trail Blazers and Boston Celtics at 9 a.m. Sunday.
Other Sports: In hockey, the Kings face the Montreal Canadiens at 5 p.m. today on Prime Ticket. And in golf, Channels 4, 36 and 39 will carry the Honda Classic, at 1 p.m. today and Sunday.
