SANTA CLARITA : Woman Drowns in Condo Complex Spa
A 51-year-old Valencia woman drowned in her condominium complex spa, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said Friday.
The woman’s name was withheld until relatives could be notified.
A neighbor at the complex in the 24000 block of Arroyo Park Drive discovered the woman’s body Friday and called the Sheriff’s Department about 9 a.m., said Sgt. Bruce Sonnenblick of the Santa Clarita sheriff’s station.
Deputies had not determined the time of death, but they surmised she “had been deceased for a long time” because of the condition of the body, Sonnenblick said.
“There was no indication of foul play,” said Sgt. John Laurie of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department homicide bureau. “The woman’s robe and keys to the complex were lying next to the spa.”
The homicide bureau routinely investigates all deaths not witnessed by a physician, Laurie said. The Los Angeles County coroner’s office will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of the woman’s death.
