A 22-year-old Los Angeles man was arrested early Wednesday in connection with the shooting death of an East San Diego man, San Diego police said.

Savorn Kevin Sey was arrested about 1 a.m. in the 4100 block of 49th Street on suspicion of shooting Song Sa once in the head with a shotgun, Lt. Paul Ybarrondo said.

Sa, 23, was found slumped in the driver’s seat of car parked on Winona Avenue, about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Ybarrondo said. Witnesses said Sa had dropped off two women at the address, when Sey and at least six other men rushed toward them. One of the men shot Sa before the group fled on foot, Ybarrondo said.

Sa was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said Sey, an unemployed chef, may be affiliated with a Los Angeles gang, and that the killing may be gang- or drug-related.
