Opposition Urged to Completion of 710 Freeway
What price progress? According to the newspapers, 1,500 homes and 7,000 trees will be lost and 6,000 residents displaced if the 710 Freeway is completed through South Pasadena.
Are cars more important than homes, air pollution-fighting trees and people? Suppose it was your home on the firing line--would you still favor the freeway? Would the Alhambra city manager and the City Council want the 710 through the middle of Alhambra?
Then why antagonize South Pasadena by paying two consultants to oppose them? I protest this waste of taxes. Bucking City Hall is not fun, but sometimes you have to take a stand and send them a message.
