Expenditures of Transit Agency

Share

In reading “Cash-Rich Transit Agency Spends Freely on Itself” (March 10), I was outraged at some of the answers that were given in trying to justify some of the waste that takes place. Neil Peterson, who should set the example as the executive director of the Los Angeles County Transportation Commission, does just the opposite. Peterson was paid $30,000 to cover expenses of moving from Seattle. Give me a break. Bills were paid late; $194,000 spent on catered lunches and dinners.

How does Peterson have the nerve to say it is all right for the taxpayer to pay for Linda Bohlinger’s (agency’s chief capital planner) education and living expenses? Why does she not go to school in Los Angeles? I think it is time for Los Angeles Mayor Tom Bradley and Los Angeles County Supervisor Mike Antonovich and the rest of the commission members to stop this waste and outrageous behavior.
