ANAHEIM : Man, 20, Wounded in Motel Shooting
A 20-year-old man was reported in critical condition early Sunday at UCI Medical Center in Orange after being shot at a party in a motel room here.
Police said the victim, Rudy Rojas of Santa Ana, was shot in the chest by unidentified assailants.
Officers said Rojas and two other people, who were not identified, had gone to a Motel 6 at 1440 N. State College Blvd. shortly after midnight. Police said there had been “a large party” in one of the motel’s rooms.
Some people inside chased Rojas from the room, police said. Officers said several shots were fired in the melee, and the gunmen then fled.
