OUT OF STEP: As first gigs go, Michele Wilson’s would have been a great one. At 19, the Rancho Santiago College ballet student was the youngest to win a prestigious spot as one of the 25 dancers on Monday night’s Academy Awards telecast. But alas, this week at rehearsals for a new Disneyland production she tripped on a wire on Tom Sawyer’s Island and sprained her ankle. . . . “She’s disappointed, but she’s young; she knows she’ll have many more opportunities,” says Sylvia Turner of the college’s dance department.
