PREP ROUNDUP : Santiago Beats Los Amigos in Baseball

Enele Scanlan had two hits and drove in three runs as Santiago defeated Los Amigos, 8-3, in a Garden Grove League baseball game Friday at Santiago.
Santiago (6-3, 2-0 in league) scored five runs in the third inning and Scanlan had a two-run single in the fourth as Santiago took a 7-0 lead.
Robert Jung pitched 5 1/3 innings en route to his third consecutive victory. David Rupert had three strikeouts in 1 1/3 innings to close out the victory for Santiago.
Los Amigos fell to 0-7, 0-2.
In Century League baseball:
Villa Park 4, Orange 4 (9 innings, darkness)--Villa Park’s Kavon Pejouhian tied the score with a two-run fifth-inning single in a game called after nine innings because of darkness.
The game will be replayed only if it will decide the league title.
Marshall Maresh hit a two-run single in the first inning for host Orange (4-4-1, 1-1-1). Villa Park is 3-4-1, 1-0-1.
In Empire League baseball:
Los Alamitos 3, Katella 1--Los Alamitos scored a run in the first and two in the fourth to win at Katella.
In nonleague baseball:
St. Margaret’s 17, Tri City Christian 0--Lupe Rodriguez had two doubles and drove in three runs and Mitch Kelly had three hits and drove in two runs. Kelly (1-0) also pitched a three-hitter for host St. Margaret’s (3-0).
In Angelus League boys’ tennis:
Santa Margarita 13, Loyola 5--No. 1 singles player Jason Scanlon swept his three sets, 6-0, 6-1, 6-3, to lead Santa Margarita (7-3, 2-0) at Coto Valley Country Club. Scanlon is 28-2.
In nonleague boys’ tennis:
Canyon 13, Fountain Valley 5--Eric Lin improved to 21-0, including a 7-6 victory over previously undefeated Eddie Weiss, as the visiting Comanches (5-4) moved over the .500 mark.
In the Cypress softball tournament:
Mater Dei 5, Loara 0--Terri Kobata pitched a two-hitter, striking out 11, and Kim Fox drove in two runs with a first-inning single as the Monarchs (3-0-1) won a pool play game at Arnold Park.
