PREP ROUNDUP : Ott’s Hit Helps Beat Valencia
With two outs in the seventh inning, Ryan Ott doubled in two runs to give Brea-Olinda a 4-3 victory over Valencia in an Orange League baseball game Monday at Valencia.
Bryan Noyes went the distance, allowing seven hits and striking out eight for the Wildcats (7-1, 3-0). Ryan Roskelly hit a home run for Valencia (2-1 in league).
In another Orange League baseball game:
Savanna 3, Western 2--Steve Lindop’s single drove in two runs with one out in the bottom of the seventh to give Savanna (3-5, 2-1) the victory. Lindop (2-2) also pitched three innings of relief, earning the victory.
In Angelus League baseball:
Mater Dei 14, Loyola 0--Darren Troilo tripled with the bases loaded to spark a six-run third inning for Mater Dei (8-0, 2-0). Troilo had three hits and five runs batted in and Rich Silva allowed two hits, struck out seven and walked three in five innings for the Monarchs.
In Freeway League baseball:
Buena Park 3, Sonora 1--Alfredo Garcia (2-0) allowed only an unearned run in the fifth inning in his four-hitter. He struck out eight for the Coyotes (3-5, 2-1).
Sunny Hills 14, Troy 10--Erren O’Leary had two hits and three RBIs for host Sunny Hills (5-5, 2-1), which took an 11-10 lead with with six runs in the fourth and added three more in the sixth. Brent Coon had two home runs for Troy (1-6, 0-3).
In South Coast League baseball:
Irvine 6, El Toro 5--Irvine scored the winning run in the bottom of the fifth when Tommy Louie was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded and two out. Louie (2-1) also pitched a complete game for the Vaqueros (5-4, 2-0).
Dana Hills 2, Mission Viejo 0--Brandon Olson (2-0) gave up two hits, struck out two and walked four for Dana Hills (5-3-1, 1-1).
