A Navy plane on a training mission blew two engines Friday and was forced to make an emergency landing at Miramar Naval Air Station.

None of the 12 passengers was injured when the four-engine propeller plane blew two left-side engines and landed about noon, Miramar spokesman Doug Sayers said.

The P-3 Orion, which is used to detect submarines, took off from Moffett Field near San Jose for a training flight, Sayers said.
