COSTA MESA : 2 Hurt in Traffic Accident on Freeway
Two people were hospitalized with minor injuries Tuesday afternoon after a traffic accident at noon on the Costa Mesa Freeway that slowed traffic for about an hour, the California Highway Patrol reported.
Amy Francis, 18, of Massapequa, N.Y., was driving south on the Costa Mesa Freeway near Santa Isabel Avenue when her truck apparently collided with a car in front of her, driven by Young Bae, 53, of Chino, fire officials said. Francis was taken to Hoag Hospital in Newport Beach and treated for cuts and bruises before being released, according to a hospital spokeswoman.
Bae was in stable condition at Western Medical Center-Santa Ana. Traffic in all southbound lanes was stalled, eventually backing up to the San Diego Freeway, the CHP reported. The accident was cleared shortly after 1 p.m.
