Jean Harvey of Antelope Valley College set a Foothill Conference record in the women’s 3,000-meter run during the conference track and field championships Friday at Chaffey College.

Harvey, the state junior college cross-country champion, timed 11 minutes 0.50 seconds. Her victory helped the Marauders finish second behind Citrus, 87 1/2 to 85.

Antelope Valley and Citrus were declared conference co-champions, however, because the Marauders were unbeaten during the conference’s dual-meet season.

Harvey was not Antelope Valley’s only winner. Regina Burrnett won the long jump and triple jump with leaps of 16 feet 8 inches and 38-7. Mia Taylor won the 100 (12.54) and 200 (25.70) and Karen Harvey, Jean’s sister, won the 800 in 2:37.34.

Louie Rudziewicz ran 4:10.58 to win the 1,500 and 2:07 to place second in the 800 for the Antelope Valley men’s team, which finished fourth. San Bernardino won the men’s title.
