Katrin Krabbe, whose four-year suspension was lifted by the German track federation in a controversial ruling this month, will be banned from a Grand Prix meet July 2 at Stockholm, reported Expressen, a Swedish newspaper.

“We have decided to not invite her,” meet spokesman Per-Anders Persson was quoted as saying in Expressen. “I’ve talked to other (Grand Prix) organizers, and they won’t allow her to compete, either.”

Representatives of major European Grand Prix track and field meets will meet May 2-3 at Stockholm to discuss a “total boycott” of Krabbe, Expressen reported.

Svein-Arne Hansen, promoter of the Bislett Games at Oslo July 4, told the Norwegian newspaper Dagbladet that he did not know of any Grand Prix organizer who would invite Krabbe.

Krabbe, the 1991 world champion at 100 and 200 meters, was suspended Feb. 15, along with countrywomen Grit Breuer and Silke Moeller because of suspicious drug tests during training in South Africa this year.

While the German federation has reinstated Krabbe, she is still banned internationally.

The International Amateur Athletic Federation will meet May 29 at Toronto and is expected to make a final decision on the Krabbe case.
